For more than 50 years, Bentleys Hair of Canberra has been a trusted part of the Jamison and belconnen community, welcoming generations of local families through its doors.

Owner June Irving began her hairdressing career at this very salon as an apprentice when it was known as The Mop Shop. After managing the business for the previous owner, she purchased the salon and renamed it Bentleys Hair of Canberra. Since then, she has dedicated her career to providing exceptional hairdressing, outstanding customer service and mentoring the next generation of hairdressers.

Since 1974, Bentleys has cared for thousands of clients and built lasting relationships based on trust, consistency and personalised service. Many of our clients have been visiting us for decades, and today we are proud to welcome second and even third generations of the same families into the salon.

Our experienced team offers professional cutting, colouring, foiling, balayage, styling and hair care services using trusted professional products. We believe that every client deserves to feel listened to, comfortable and confident, whether they're visiting for a simple trim or a complete transformation. Our goal is to create beautiful, healthy hair while providing a warm, friendly experience every time you visit.

A passion for education has always been central to Bentleys. Over the years, June has trained and mentored numerous apprentices, many of whom have gone on to enjoy successful careers and even own salons of their own. Investing in education and professional development ensures our team continues to deliver the highest standards of hairdressing while embracing new techniques and industry trends.

Bentleys' commitment to excellence has been recognised through a number of prestigious local and national awards. Most recently, June was named the 2025 Australian Small Business Champion – Entrepreneur, while Bentleys was recognised as Most Outstanding Business of the Year and June as Most Outstanding Hairdresser of the Year at the 2024 Canberra Region Local Business Awards.
